I was 3 years old when I told a cashier at a Superstore that my "real" parents died in a plane crash. They hadn't but I played that poor lady like a violin to get an extra sucker. My mom claims to have known then that I would be an author one day.

It wasn't until I was 10 years old, in my grade 4 classroom, that I even learned what being an author meant. We were assigned a 4-page short story and subsequently were given 1 hour to complete it. When the timer went off, I had 12 pages written and cried when my teacher pried the papers out of my little hands. I continued that story at home and it became the Power series: a hodge-podge of my favourite books at the time (LOTR, Percy Jackson, Piercing the Darkness) and followed a protagonist named Crystal Heart (remember I was 10) who discovered that she was the child of two very powerful angels and had to save the world from the armies of hell. 2 years and 200,000 words later, I finished my first book.

Over the ensuing 13 years of my career as an author, I've written 60+ novels (many of which have been deleted), planned 207 of them, and published 4. ​​
